SUPR DUPR League

THE SUPRDUPR(™) LEAGUE

The SUPRDUPR(™) Pickleball Leagues is a particular doubles playing format where all players play against all, changing partners and opponents on every match, never repeating a match between the same doubles.

In a 6-player league, the total number of doubles combinations is 15, the total number of matches per player is 30, and the total number of matches overall is 45. Consequently, the league will be played over 5 weeks, with 3 best-of-3 matches to 11 (win by 2), played daily among 4 players, guaranteeing each one plays a minimum of 6 sets and a maximum of 9 sets if there are three rubber matches. So, each player will commit to playing 10 2-hour days during the 5 weeks.

The schedule is pre-set and semi-flexible, in the sense that although the days of play are set to be Tuesdays and Thursdays at 09 AM and Saturdays at 10 AM at the Brevard Health and Racquet Club (BHRC), with the players receiving an original pre-set schedule showing all their matches, they could eventually agree among themselves to change the schedule in case one of them has a good reason, as long as all of them agree and the organizer finds a way to replace that day in the future.

Suppose a player has an injury, sickness, or other major reason. In that case, the organizer will try to find a replacement player rated similarly to the player who will miss a day of play or will try to work around the schedule if possible, in agreement with the other players.

The organizer will provide:

  1. a) A template table for the players to input the results of their matches when the organizer is not present on a particular day. In this case, one of the 4 players will send the filled table electronically, including all 4 players’ initials, for the organizer to input the results.
  1. b) Daily online access to the results through the platform pickleballconnect.io showing the classification per matches played, won and lost, sets won, lost and differential, and points won, lost, and differential, which are the main criteria for the players’ classification.

The League will have two phases, each distributing a set of gold, silver, and bronze medals:

1- The initial classification phase played over 5 weeks. The top 4 players will advance to dispute the playoffs phase from that phase.

2- The playoffs phase where the 4 players will dispute 3 best of 3 matches to 15 points (win by 2) on the Saturday following the end of regular play at the BHRC.

The League has a fee of $75, which is shared with the Brevard Health and Racquet Club, but is now reduced to $50 until further notice. In addition, the BHRC charges a fee of $5 per day of play to non-members.
